HOT CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF TiAl INTERMETALLICS IN THE MOLTEN CARBONATES

The hot corrosion behavior of TiAl intermetallics in molten carbonates was investigated.TiAl showed good hot corrosion resistance in (Li,K) 2CO 3 at 650℃. The corrosion product is mainly composed of LiAlO 2 and Li 2TiO 3, underneath which is TiO 2 and Al 2O 3. The melting of the corrosion product Li 2TiO 3 leads to significant weight loss at 750℃.
