INHIBITION EFFECT OF CETYLPYRIDINIUM BROMIDE AND THIOUREA ON X70 STEEL IN H_2SO_3 SOLUTION

The inhibitive action of cetylpyridinium bromide(CPB) and thiourea(TU) and the synergistic action of CPB and TU on the corrosion behavior of X70 steel were investigated in 10 mmol/L H_2SO_3 solution by means of potentiodynamic polarization techinique and EIS.It was found that the inhibitive effect of CPB and TU increased with the increase of concentration of CPB and TU respectively.The optimal concentration for CPB is 5×10~(-6) kg/L,but the optimal concentration for TU is 50×10~(-6) kg/L in HAc-NaAc (pH=3.7) solution with 10 mmol/L H_2SO_3.A combination of CPB and TU gives a synergistic effect and the optimal ratio with the total amount of 25×10~(-6) kg/L is 1∶1.
