Design of Flood Discharging and Energy Dissipation Structure for a Certain Hydropower Station

A certain hydropower station in Yunnan Province has such the characteristics as the large peak discharge,the high water level in downstream,the multiple sand and so on.Through the comparison and selection for plans and the hydraulic model test,the layout scheme is recommended to adopt with five surface orifices for the flood discharge and with the flaring pier and falling-sill bottom flow for the energy dissipation.By this type of the energy dissipation firstly adopted in this project,the good effect of the energy dissipation with the flaring pier is fully utilized,and the impact of the jet-trajectory flow onto the bottom plate is also overcome.
