Simplified Approximate Calculation Method for Critical Water Depth of Circular Section

In the critical depth calculation of circular section,the solving of implicit high-order trigonometric functions should be completed, the direct solution could not be achieved.Aimed at the problems in traditional algorithm and approximation algorithm,through making the mathematical transformation for its critical flow equation,by using optimal fitting method,and taking minimum standard remainder deviation for objective function,the simple approximation formula is obtained,the maximum relative error of which is less than 0.551%.The formula has the practical significance of spreading.
