Comparative Study on the Landslide Stability based on Deformation Characteristics and Quantitative Calculation

There are administrative organizations,schools,troops and religious monasteries located at the foot of the12~#landslide on the West Mountain of Wulong County,Qinghai province. This landslide currently is in a deformation state,which is threatening the safety of the residents and property. In this paper,the deformation characteristics of the 12~#landslide are analyzed. It was found that the mechanism of sliding failure was mainly resulted from the interaction between the extrinsic factor of the landslide and the effects of water and human engineering activities. The steady state of the landslide under natural conditions and heavy rain conditions was deduced qualitatively.The shear strength parameters of the landslide were determined according to the indoor experiment and the inversion calculation. The stability of the landslide under different load conditions was calculated by using the calculation model of polyline sliding surface. By contrast,it was found that the qualitative analysis results are consistent with the quantitative calculation results.
