A New Type of Double Capillary Nebulizer Used in Atomic Absorption Analysis

The nebulizer designed and reported has two concentric capillaries, and it is especially recommended in the use of determining arsenic, antimony, bismuth, tin, selenium and tellurium by hydride method. In this instance, one capillary is used for the aspiration of potassium borohydride solution and the other for samples. No special accessory or inert gases are required. By using double capillary nebulizer in hydride method, the result can be obtained with very good precision. The relative standard deviation is≤1.0. In comparison with those of the conventional atomic absorption, detection limits for above elements can be improved by one or more order. Their values are 0.0037(As),0.007(Sb), 0.0017(Bi), 0,080(Sn), 0.0043(Se)and 0.014 ppm(Te). The influence of different acids, their acidity and the amount of potassium borohydride on the determination of the elements studied is also investigated.
