Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric Determination of Gallium in Environmental Samples Using Graphite Furnace Platform Technique

This paper describes a method for the determination of gallium in orchard leaves, sediments, soils and rocks using the L'vov platform and the maximum power heating mode. To a HGA-400 graphite tube is inserted a graphite platform on which the sapmle solution is added and vaporized at a constant temperature environment. This reduces matrix interferences, so that gallium can be determined in matrices containing chloride, sulfate, phosphate and perchlorate. Different methods for sample decomposition have also been discussed.
