Determination of Organic Acid in Acid Rain by lon Chromatography With p-Toluene Sulfonic Acid as Eluant

The conditions of ion chromatography using p-toluene sulfonic acid as eluant for the determinaion of HCOO~- and CH_3COO~- in acid rain were studied. The minumum detectable concentrations of HCOO~- and CH_3COO~- were about 48 ppb and 93 ppb respectively. Experiments compared with ion chromatography method using octane sulfonic acid as eluant were described, and this method was used to measure formic and acetic acids in acid rain at Guangdong and Guangxi province.
