Rapid Determination of Pentachlorophenol Residues in Leather and Leather Products by Acetylation Gas Chromatography

The method for the rapid determination of pentachlorophenol residues in leather and leather products is tested on basis of relevant documents on home and aboard, and it is improved with the inclusion of the procedure of concentrated sulfuric acid purification and the introduction of Aldrin as internal reference. The constituent measured, acetylated pentachlorophenol , is determined quantitatively with packed column gas chromatography. The improved method can meet demands for export inspection and quality control of leather pro ducts on home.
