Study on the Solution State of Acridine Orange Dye in the Solution System of Surfactant

He Xiwen, Feng Xizeng, Zhang Guizhu , Shi huiming (Department of Chemistry, NankaiUniversity, Tianjin 300071)  
The solution state of acridine orange (AO) has been studied by UV-absorption, fluorescence and difference spectrometry. From application of Kasha's theory on the difference spectrum between AO monomer and dinner, we have estimated that the distance between dye planes of AO is 1. 385 nm, and these planes form the cross angle 49?in dimer molecule. The relationship between the changes of spectra and molecular structute by surfactant has been discussed.
