Spectrophotometric Determination of Mercury With 2-Hydroxy-3-carboxy-5-sulfobenzenediazoaminoazobenzene by Flow Injection Analysis

A flow-Injection-spectrophotometric method for the determination of microamounts of mercury with 2-hydroxy-3-carboxy-5-sulfobenzenediazoaminoazobenzene (HCSDAA) and octylpolyethyleneglycol Phenylether(OP) was developed. The linear range is 0.05~1.0 mg/L for mercury, and the detection limit and the sampling rate are 0.016 mg/L and 10Osamples/h, resPectively. Ihe Proposed method hasbeen applied to the determination of microamounts of mercury in human hair, tap water and waste water with a maximum relative standard deviation of 1.5%(n=6).
