Determination of Trace Rare Earth Impurities in High Purity Europium Oxide by Chemical Spectrographic Method

The determination of trace rare earth impurities in high purity europium oxide by chemical spectrographic method is reported in this paper. The matrix Eu2O3 was separated by the extraction-eluting resin P507. The remainder rare earth impurities were absorpted by car- bon powder. The rare earth impurities absorpted were determined in carrier KBH4 by spec- trographic analysis. The trace rare earth impurities in 99. 9999 % Eu2O3 can be determined by this method.
