Electrochemical Characteristics and Catalytic Properties of Poly(neutral red) Film Modified Electrodes

The method and conditions of preparing neutral red film at glassy carbon electrode surface by electropolymerization have been studied. The tight and even film modified elec- trodes can be obtained by cyclic voltammetry and constant current methods in the system of 0.025 mol/L phosphate buffer solution(pH=6) +0. 5 mol/L sodium nitrate+0. 0001 mol/L neutral red. The electrochemical characteristics and charge transmission process in the films have been explored initially with cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The obtained diffusion coefficient within the film is: Do= 1. 1 ×10-8 cm2/s. The PNR films possess strong- ly characteristics of electrocatalytic oxidation of vitamine C and nitrite. The linear relation- ship between catalytic currents and concentrations of vitamine C and nitrite is held in wide ranges.
