Determination of Trace Germanium in Purified Zinc Sulphate Solutions in Zinc Hydrometallurgical Process With Dual Wavelength Spectrophotometric Method

The colorimetric system employed for the determination of Ge in zinc hydrometallurgic process in this paper is Ge-salicylfluorone-p-octyl polyethylene glycol phenyl ether (OP) with 1mol/ L HCl acidi- ty. With dual wavelength absorbance measurements to deduct the interference of highly concentrated zinc sulphate, trace Ce in purified zinc sulphate solution can be determined directly without pre-separation.
