A New Infrared Spectrometer With Charge Coupled Device Detector

Yuan Hongfu , Long Yicheng, Xu Guangtong, Lu Wanzhen (Molecular Spectroscopy Laboratory, Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, Beijing 100083)  
A near infrared (NIR) spectrometer with linear charge coupled device (CCD) detector was manufactured. Since no moving part was used in the instrument, the configuration is simpler than the conventional NIR spectrometer. A high scanning rate and a very good reproducibility were obtained. The specification of the instrument , such as resolution, accuracy of wavelengths and S/N were compared with the commercial instruments. A software based on chemometrics developed in this laboratory was used for calibration. The instrument has been used in the laboratories of petrochemical plants for routine analysis of various oil products. The results agreed with the standard samaples.
