Electrochemical Behavior of Hemoglobin at a L-cysteine Modified Microelectrode

Gu Kai, Zhu Junjie, Chen Hongyuan (Department of Chemistry, The State Key Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093)  
L-cysteine is covalently combined onto a silver microelectrode to form a chemically modified electrode. Experimental results show that hemoglobin possesses good voltammetric response at this electrode. Preconcentration and differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry are used to detecthemoglobin. The relative standard deviation is 6.3% for 8 successive determinations at 2.0×10-7mol/LHemoglobin. The detection limit is down to 1.0×10-8mol/L.
