Determination of 43 Trace Elements in Rock Samples By Double Focusing High Resolution Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry

An accurate and simple method for the determinations of 40 or more elements in geological rock samples has been developed by using a double focusing high resolution inductively coupled plasmamass spectrometry(ICP-MS) instrument. Distilled HF + HNO3 and high pressure sealed Teflon bomb were used to decompose sample. Working curve was drawn from whole procedure of blank and national rock standard materials WBC07103 and WGB07105 which suitable concentration range for most elements to be determined can be covered by. The detection limits of this method are between 0.1 ~ 188 ng/g and the relative standard deviations for most elements are below 5%. It has been used to determine geological rock samples.
