Analysis of Lycopene by Supercritical Fluid Chromatography
Qi Guopeng, Zhao Suoqi (The Key State Laboratory of Heavy Oil Processing, University of Petroleum of Beijing, Beijing 102249)
Lycopene was separated by using supercritical fluid chromatography on a C 18 column with supercritical CO 2 as mobile phase, under the conditions of temperature in the range of 25~50℃, pressure 15.0 MPa~20.0 MPa, and concentration of the modifier ethanol in 0~20% and hexane in 0~30%. The retention time of lycopene is within 3 min. The lycopene extracted by supercritical propane, the feed and the extract residue from tomato skins were quantified accurately. The relative standard deviations were below 6%.
