Rapid Determination of 7 Tetracyclines by Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography

A gradient elution method for the determination of 7 tetracyclines (TCs) by reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP HPLC) was proposed. TCs were separated on a Diamonsil (C 18 column (250×4.6 mm i.d., 5 μm) using methanol acetonitrile 0.01 mol/L oxalic acid at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and detected at 270 nm within 10 min. The effects of the distribution proportion of the mobile phase, gradient elution program, pH value and the oxalic acid concentration on separation were discussed.
