Determination of Triethylamine and Xylidine in Mixed Amine by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

A method for the determination of triethylamine and xylidine in mixed amine by near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is presented. The optimal spectral region and the baseline treatment by different methods were studied, then the calibration models of triethylamine and xylidine were established with partial least square regression. The repeatability of the method and the effect of temperature on the determination were also examined. The method is simple, rapid and accurate under constant temperature condition of samples. The result predicted by NIR method was compared with that by standard method.
