Determination of Epinephrine in the Presence of Ascorbic Acid Using Poly (amidosulfonic red) Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

A glassy carbon electrode was modified with electropolymerized film of amidosulfonic acid in pH 7 0 phosphate buffer solution (PBS) by cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytical effect on oxidation of epinephrine (EP). In PBS of pH 7.0, the anodic current increased linearly with the concentration of EP in the range of 1.0×10 -7 ~1.0×10 -4 mol/L. The detection limit ( S/N =3 ) was 1.0×10 -8 mol/L. The interference of ascorbic acid with the determination of EP could be eliminated because of the very distinct attracting interaction between EP cations and the negatively poly(amidosulfonic acid) film in pH 7.0 PBS. The proposed method exhibited good recovery and reproducibility.
