The volatile constituents of Pinecone of Pinus koraiensis were studied. Method of steam distillation had been adopted to extract the volatile constituents from Pinecone of Pinus koraiensis. The optimal distillation time was 5.5 h; the extraction rate of the volatile oil was 1.28%. By gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method, 32 chemical constituents were identified in the volatile oil from Pinecone of Pinus koraiensis. Most of the components were monoterpene and sesquiterpene. The major components were: α-Pinene(44.258%), D-Limonene (23.426%), β-Pinene(8.674%), Caryophyllene(3.462%), β-Myrcene(3.018%). There were some components that had high pharnmacological effect, such as α-Pinene, D-Limonene, Caryophyllene. Pinecone of Pinus koraiensis is a kind of natural drug resource, which holds enormous potential.
