First Derivative of Ratio Spectrum Method for Simultaneous Determination of Phenol and Resorcin

The ratio spectrum obtained by the absorption spectrum of binary mixture system dividing by a standard spectrum of one of the components and the subsequent derivation to the wavelength, can separate the overlapping spetrum and eliminate the interference. Therefore, this method is convenient in the analysis of binary mixture system with a minor error. In this paper, the mixture of Phenol and Resorcin was determined using this method. The RSD was less than 5.8%(n=8). The contents of Phenol and Resorcin in Pigmentum Resorcinoli Co were determined simultaneously with the recoveries of 99.3-103.8% and 96.6-104.0%, respectively.
