Intelligent Prediction of Excavation Displacement of the Navigation Lock Slope in Three Gorges Project

An intelligent method-evolutionary neural network for predicting displacement of slopes by combing genetic algorithms and artificial neural network is proposed which uses the neural network whose architecture is determined in global optimum by genetic algorithm to describe the relationship between the rock parameters and the displacements produced due to excavation displacement was calculated using the obtained parameters. As an example it is used to predict the excavation displacement of the navigation lock slope in the Three Gorges Project and the results are satisfying.
