Classification system of land use/cover in mining area based on RS

Which takes remote sensing image as data sources. Since there is no classification criterion of land use/cover in LUCC research of mining area in China, it is necessary to build a suitable classification system. Based on the study of domestic and international classification systems, we have analyzed the existing problems on classification systems of land use or land cover. The necessities of building classification system of land use/cover based on remote sensing are also analyzed in detail, and main principles in constructing classification criterion are presented in this paper. Finally, two modes of classification system are given according to the characteristic of mining area.
