Application of combination evaluation for cities' comprehensive economic power of delta of Pearl River

In view of the weaknesses of simplex evaluation method for complex economic system evaluation, a new and more effective economic system evaluation method called combination evaluation (CE) model is developed in this paper. CE can remarkably improve the evaluation ability through combining multiple simplex evaluation methods' results and take the full use of their advantages meanwhile overcoming their shortcomings to some degree. Using the relevant data of Guangdong province in 2005, composite indexes method, principal component analysis (PCA), TOPSIS and entropy method are introduced to evaluate and sort the comprehensive economic power of nine cities of the delta of Pearl River. What's more, the fuzzy Borda combination evaluation model is constructed to do the same work and a more all-sided, scientific and rational conclusion is drawn.
