Determining reasonable mining height in water-preserved-mining for sandy-soil-rock type of overlying strata in northern Shaanxi Province

In view of the problems of the environmental deterioration and desertification after mining,the controversy to adopt whether sloping clices mining or top-coal caving mining is discussed.Simulation experiment for those two mining methods is designed.The distributed laws of “three zones” and the developing laws of crannies are analyzed according to the phenomena of similar simulation tests.With full consideration of geological and technological conditions of exploitation.It can be concluded that water-preserved-mining method of the first working face at Yushuwan Mine belonging to sandy-soil-rock type of overlying strata in northern Shaanxi Province should be sloping clice mining scheme in which the upper clice is five meters high,instead of the upper-lower clices mining scheme and top-coal caving scheme.
