Coupling effect of temperature field and stress field in residual coal spontaneous combustion

A study is conducted to investigate the process of the changes in temperature,displacement and stress under the coupling effect of temperature field and stress field during the residual coal spontaneous combustion.Based on the software FEPG,a program of two-dimensional finite element is developed to simulate the process of spontaneous combustion using coupling theory.Simulation results show that residual coal spontaneous combustion changes the structure of the whole nature of rock and causes the redistribution of internal stress field,in turn,causes stress release and rebound effect.In some circumstances,the residual coal spontaneous combustion results in the deformation and movement of ground surface.The results of finite element simulation are in agreement with the experimental results.
