Electrochemical behavior of a toluidine blue modified Au electrode and its application to determination of ascorbic acid

Fabrication and electrochemical characteristics of a toluidine blue modified Au electrode were investigated.The electrode was applied to the determination of ascorbic acid.In PBS buffer of pH 6.5,a sensitive oxidation peak was observed.The current is proportional to the concentration of ascorbic acid in the range of 3.9×10~(-5)~1.0×10~(-2) mol/L with a detection limit of 1.3×10~(-5) mol/L.The modified electrode has a good-repeatability.It has been applied to the quantitative determination of ascorbic acid in tablets.
