Study on HPLC method for determination of five kinds of organic acids in flos lonicerae

An HPLC method with gradient elution mode is developed for the simultaneous separation and determination of chlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,3,5-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid,3,4-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid and 4,5-O-dica-ffeoylquinic acid in flos lonicerae.These five organic acids can be extracted from the flos lonicerae samples with 80% of methanol.Experiments were performed on waters symmetry○R RP18 column(3.9×250 mm,5 μm),with methanol and acetic acid solution(0.1%) as mobile phase using gradient elution at a flow-rate of 0.8 mL/min and detected with a photodiode array detector.The recoveries of five organic acids are 97%~101%,and the relative standard deviations are 0.3%~2.4%.This method can be applied to the determination of five organic acids in flos lonicerae with satisfactory results.
