Studies on fluorescence quenching method for determination of apigenin with CdSe/CdS quantum dots

The CdSe/CdS quantum dots of peculiar spectral properties were synthesized in an aqueous solution using thioglycolic acid as a stabilizing agent.Based on the fluorescence quenching of CdSe/CdS quantum dots by apigenin,a sensitive and specific method for apigenin determination was proposed.Different influencing factors were studied,including pH and concentration of buffer,reaction time and quantum dot concentration.In 0.001 mol/L KH2PO4-Na2HPO4 with pH 6.80,when the concentration of quantum dots was 1.2×10-4 mol/L and the reaction time was 20 min,the relative fluorescence intensity is linearly proportional to the concentration of apigenin from 0.16 μg/mL to 27.02 μg/mL.The linear equation is F0/F=0.99665+0.11067ρ(μg/mL) with an excellent correlation coefficient of 0.998,and the limit of detection is 0.13 μg/mL for apigenin.The proposed method was used to the analysis of sythesized samples.
