Determination of trace heavy metals and lead isotopes in PM_(2.5) by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

A method for the detection of six trace heavy metal elements Cr,Ni,Cu,As,Cd,Pb and four lead isotopes in PM2.5by HNO3- H2O2digestion and ICP-MS was established.By the correction of internal elements,the effects of matrix and physics,and fluctuation of instrument were overcome effectively.Under the optimum instrumental operation parameters,the correlation coefficients of working curves of six elements and lead isotopes were over 0.9997.The detection limits of five trace elements and four lead isotopes were 0.01 ~ 0.07μg/L and 0.014 ~ 0.07μg/L,respectively.The mean values of national standard reference material GBW(E) 080212 and NIST981 were in good agreement with certified standard values.It was found that the relative standard deviation(RSD) of lead isotope was stable when the concentration of lead was more than 10 μg/L.Using this method,the detection system of PM2.5has a good stability with RSDs of six trace elements less than 4.8%,and with RSD of lead isotopes less than 0.5%.It shows that the method of determining the trace elements and lead isotopes in PM2.5by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry is simple,accurate and stable.
