Determination of three anti-acarid agents in anti-acne cosmetics by HPLC and their verification by HPLC-MS / MS

A comprehensive analytical method based on high-performance liquid chromatography( HPLC) has been developed for the simultaneous determination of three anti-acarid agents( captan,chinomethionate and propargite) in anti-acne cosmetics. Cosmetic samples were ultrasonically extracted with methanol,centrifuged,and filtered by microporous membrane filter. The chromatographic separation of the analytes was performed using a Kromasil C18( 4. 6 mm × 250 mm,5 μm) column. The quantitation was carried out by external standard method. The experimental results indicated that the limits of quantitation( LOQs) for captan,chinomethionate and propargite were 0. 05,0. 005 and 0. 02 mg / kg,respectively. The suspected positive samples were subjected to further verification by HPLC-MS / MS. Positive electrospray( ESI) and multiple reaction monitoring( MRM)were used for the analysis. The method is accurate,rapid,sensitive,and can be used for the inspection of antiacne cosmetics.
