STUDY ON PRESERVATION OF SWEET APRICOT KERNAL (SAK) BY γ-IRRADIATION

This paper introduces the study on effect of insecticide andsterilization of SAK by ~(60)Co γ irradiation. The results dec1are that, the proper dosekill the to insect eggs on the serface of SAK is 3.5 kGy, the preserving period underambient temperature is up to 7 months, the intactness rate is 100%, and the SAK canbe safely stored through the summer. By the irradiation of 3.5kGy, the sanitaryquality of SAK can be notablely improved and the amount of microbes can decreaseby at leat 99%. There are no remarkable changes of the main nutritious componentsof irradiated SAK.
