CuO catalysts prepared by molten salt method and its properties

Using CuSO_4· 5H_2O as the source of copper, CuO of inorganic catalytic material was synthesized by a molten salt method at different temperatures. The structure and properties of CuO were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, ultraviolet visible diffuse spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The ultraviolet catalytic activity of CuO was evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange. With the introduction of a variety of free radical scavenger, we research the active species in the photocatalytic reaction process of methyl orange. The research results have shown that CuO prepared at 410 ℃ has the best UV catalytic activity.
