Preparation and Characterization of SiO_2 Supported H_6PMo_9V_2Nb_1O_(40) Heteropoly Acid

The heteropoly acid complex H-6PMo-9V-2Nb-1O-{40} was prepared by a method of combining common acidification with ether extraction and H-6PMo-9V-2Nb-1O-{40}/SiO-2 was prepared by an isovolume impregnation method. The characterization of the samples using cyclic voltammetry, XRD, BET, TG-DTA, IR and UV-vis techniques showed that H-6PMo-9V-2Nb-1O-{40} is of Keggin structure and possesses special oxidation-reduction properties with excellent reversibilities. In the H-6PMo-9V-2Nb-1O-{40}/SiO-2, the bonds linking between heteropoly acid and SiO-2 support are formed through bridging oxygen and terminal oxygen , and the supported heteropoly acid maintains the original Keggin structure and thermal stability.
