Stability calculation for thin cylindrical shells of the multi-serial uniform load thrust roller bearing

PAN Ling (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou, Fujian 350002, China)  
This paper is to obtain the simplified equations for critical stresses of thin cylindrical shells of the multi-serial uniform load thrust roller bearing by solving the linear stability Donnell equation, and the nonlinear large deflection of post buckling and defects of the thin cylindrical shell under axia compression are considered. It can be used to calculate the stability conveniently. The numerical calculation tallies with the experiment result.
