CHEN Bei,SHI Xiang-zhu,WANG Shao-yun,YE Xiu-yun,RAO Ping-fan(Institute of Biotechnology,Fuzhou University,Fuzhou,Fujian 350002,China)
An antifungal protein was isolated from bitter melon seeds by extraction with PBS buffer, anion exchange chromatography column(DEAE-650C) and cation exchange chromatography column(CM-650C).It was identified to be homogeneous by SDS-PAGE,and the relative molecular weight was estimated to be about 12.7kDa.It was composed of two subunits linked by a disulfide bond, whose molecular weight were 6 and 7kDa,respectively.It showed antifungal activity against Physalospora piricola,Fusarium oxysporum and Pythium aphanidermatum.
