Effect of Biological Bacterium Agents on the Variation of Humic Acids in the Compost of Mushroom Residue

The 36 days composting experiment was conducted with the mushroom residue as raw material to determine the changes law of temperature, p H and the content of humic acid in the composting proces. The results showed that adding biological bacterium agents can not only accelerate heating rate of pile size, but also prolong the period of high temperature. The content of fulvic acid, the p H value fi rst increased and then decreased. The content changing of free humic acid fi rst increased, then decreased and fi nally increased. But, on the contrary, the content of total humic acid fi rst decreased and then increased. The content of water soluble humic acid constantly increased until composting ceased. After composting, the humic acid content of the treatment group was signifi cantly higher than that of the control group, indicating that adding biological bacterium agents can accelerate the composting process, and improve the quality of compost.
