Moisture adsorption property of lotus fibers

To understand the moisture adsorption of lotus fiber,this article analyzed the relation between structure of lotus fiber and moisture adsorption with experiment.Characteristic curves of moisture adsorption and moisture liberation of lotus fiber were obtained by testing in standard condition.Then the regression equation of the moisture regain to time and the rate of moisture absorption and moisture evaporation were derived during the moisture equilibrium at dry side or moisture equilibrium at wet side of lotus fiber.The results indicated that lotus fiber had better moisture absorption and moisture evaporation properties,and its moisture adsorption,moisture liberation and moisture regain were higher than those of cotton and flax fibers.The moisture adsorption rate of lotus fiber was the quickest,flax fiber in the second place,and the cotton fiber was the slowest.The moisture liberation rate of the three fibers was approximate,and lotus fiber was slightly higher than the others.
