Effect of high-frequency microwave on interfiber friction coefficient of fiber strand

Based on the hypothesis of eliminating spinning draft waves by high-frequency microwaves,the principle of high-frequency microwave changing interfiber friction coefficient of fiber strand is analyzed theoretically.The linear alternating vibration of the high-frequency waves not only changes the interfiber static state,and turns static-friction into dynamic-friction(or dynamic-friction dominating),but also generates high-pressure gas film which decreases interfiber contacting area and reduces interfiber friction coefficient.Furthermore,by analyzing the force and movement of floating fibers,and introducing the relationship between the interfiber friction coefficients and their relative velocity,the model of interfiber friction coefficient under high-frequency microwaves is established,and the factors affecting interfiber friction coefficient are analyzed as well.It is found that the interfiber friction coefficient are related to fiber length,the embedded length of other fibers with varied velocity,fiber′s section radius,fiber density in the strand,fiber modulus,interfiber relative velocity,average fiber ends based on the cross-section of the fiber strand,the frequency and amplitude of high-frequency microwaves.Theoretical analysis shows that interfiber friction coefficient of staple fiber strands can be reduced by high-frequency microwaves.
