Extraction of chlorophyll in Taxus chinensis and its sodium zinc chlorophyllin dyeing property to wool fabric

Chlorophyll was extracted from Taxus chinensis leaves with 95% ethanol and the extraction process was optimized.Sodium zinc chlorophyllin was prepared from the extract and was used for wool fabric dyeing.Effects of dyeing temperature and dye concentration on dyeing effect were investigated.The results showed that better extraction conditions of chlorophyll in the leaves were 95% ethanol,extraction temperature 60 ℃,solid to liquid ratio 1∶15 and extraction time 2 h.Wool dyed with sodium zinc chlorophyllin obtained the maximum K/S value when dyeing temperature was 90 ℃.Sodium zinc chlorophyllin had good build-up property on wool fiber.Dyed wool fabric showed good washing fastness and light fastness was needed to improve.The maximum absorption wavelength of wool changed and K/S value decreased under the ultraviolet irradiation.
