QTL Analysis of Heading Date, Plant Height and Yield Components in F_2 Population Derived from Minghui 86×Jiafuzhan

A F 2 population and a corresponding simple sequence repeats (SSR) molecular marker linkage map were established and constructed from a cross between two indica rice cultivars, Minghui86 and Jiafuzhan. QTL of heading date, plant height and yield components were detected and analyzed by Additive and Free models of interval mapping. The results showed that 3 QTL conferring heading date, plant height and spikelets per panicle were all detected on RM1-RM283 of chromosome 1 based on Additive model and located in the similar region by clustering distribution. Similarly, the results of QTL underlying heading date, plant height and spikelets per panicle in chromosome location, effect and contribution rate by Free model were the same to those by Additive model. Furthermore, 2 QTL for seed-setting rate and 1000-grain weight by Free model were mapped in RM180-RM214 of chromosome 7 and in RM279-RM154 of chromosome 2 respectively, and both had lower contribution rates. The reason of different mapping results compared to previous studies was discussed.
