Observation on Flowering Habit of Photo-thermoperiod Sensitive Genic Sterile Rice Lines with a Pale-green Leaf Marker

The flowering habits of photo-thermoperiod sensitive genic sterile rice lines with pale-green leaf markers TS1, TS2, TS3, TS4, and ZAU11S, PA64S, which were used as controls, were systematically surveyed. Results showed: (1) It was easy to differentiate by eyes between the pale-green leaf of sterile lines and normal green leaf of the controls;(2) The sterile lines have shorter flowering duration, lower flowering rate and stigma exsertion rate. There were great differences daily in some characters such as the flowering rate, spikelet opening time and opening angle of spikelet among pale-green leaf sterile lines;(3) Pale-green leaf sterile lines showed the time of flowering early (9:00 or 10:00 AM) under both the sterile stage and the fertile stage except TS1.
