Genetic Control of Plant Height and its Utilization in Rice

Plant height is one of the most important agronomic traits of rice. Utilization of drawf rice varities was greae achievement in rice breeding in the 20th century. In this paper, we reviewed the study of identification, mapping and action mechanism of plant height genes in the rice. The situations of using the plant height genes in the rice breeding is also introduced as well. The existing problems in utilization of dwarf germplasms and breeding of dwarf variety were also proposed in this paper. Its developing prospect was looked ahead.
