Progress in Reserch of Molecular Mechanism of Phosphorus Absorption in Plants

Phosphorus is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and development. High efficiency of Pnutrition in plants is closely related to many factors, such as root morphology, root exudates, P transportors across plasmalemma, phosphorus translocation and symbiosis with microorganisms, and so on. These nutritional properties are genetically controlled by multi-genes and characterized by quantitative trait loci (QTLs). At present, researches on plant phosphorus (P) nutrition have involved in molecular mechanism. This paper will make a brief review on phosphorus absorption in plants in aspects of radical configuration, root xeudates, mycorrhizae, Pi-transporter and specific expression genes under P stress.
