THE EQUI-ZONING RECIPROCITY METHOD FOR CALCULATING RADIANT DIRECT EXCHANGE AREAS FOR FURNACE

This paper presents the simpler "equi-zoning reciprccity method" for calculating radiant direct exchange arcas. Based on properties of radiant view factor and its analytical solutions, reciprocity relations of view factor and average transmittance between surfaces are developed for foregoing calculations. This method is better than other direct integral methcds: It is simpler, more accurate and it can save far more computing time, about 2~5 times. In this paper, algebraic equations of Hottel's presolving zone method and process of solution for radiation heat transfer in reheating furnaces are also mentioned. Basic principles and reciprocity relations which introducted in this paper may be used in calculations of tadiation heat transfer in other heat equipments.
