Analysis of Surface Black Spots on Cold Rolled Pickled Steel Sheets

Oxide scale formation during cooling and pickling of Q195 and ST13 steel sheets at different temperature were studied to study the black spots on cold rolled pickled steel sheets.The surface of tested Q195 and ST13 steel sheets and samples taken on site were analyzed.The results showed,the black spots are in fact the oxide scale formed during hot rolling and remained after pickling;the black spots are primarily composed from Fe3O4 and FeO;and the higher the temperature,the thicker the scale is,the higher the content of Fe3O4 is,the easier the black spot formation is.
