Influence of M-EMS Parameters on Distribution of Magnetic Field and Flow Field in Continuous Casting of Bloom

Combining with industrial experiment,a coupled numerical simulation of 470mm×350mm bloom was conducted during continuous casting with mold electromagnetic stirring(M-EMS).The influence of M-EMS current,frequency and mold thickness on distribution of magnetic field and flow field was investigated.The results show that magnetic flux density,electromagnetic force and velocity all increase with the coil current when keeping other parameters unalterable.Magnetic flux density decreases with the increase of frequency,but electromagnetic force and velocity increase with the frequency.With the increase of frequency,the variation of maximum magnetic flux density,electromagnetic force and velocity decrease.For 470 mm×350 mm bloom during continuous casting with M-EMS,the current,frequency and mold thickness of 550 A,2 Hz and 35 mm can play well stirring effect.
