INDURATION PROCESS OF PELLET SINTERING

AbstractIn this paper,the induration process and mechanism were studied by the dissection of the pellet sintering charge column and the measurement of the thermal profile in bed under the magnetic concentrate material condition. The induration of new agglomerates was a liquid phase iuduration Which was similar to that of the conventional sinter.When the basicity was about 2.0,the acicular calcium-ferrite was the main binding phase. It forms mainly in the high tempera-ture cooling. zone. The new agglomerates have longer maintaining time of high-temperature oxi-dizing than the convcntional sintering,so that it fits to the formation of the acicular calcium-ferrite.
